BODY-MIND CENTERING
The goal of these classes is to find peaceful presence and ease within your body. The classes will include organic, authentic movement, hands-on partner work, and somatic journeys. We will look at and discuss anatomical structures and embryological origins of specific topics to fully embody more of ourselves through depth of understanding. Moving with a heightened sensitivity and awareness will free up expression and mobility. Comfort and fluidity may also replace tense and painful areas. Where the class is based on somatic movement, each participant is encouraged to move within the range that your body allows. Absolutely, no experience is necessary. All levels of movers are encouraged to come. This class is non-hierarchical. People new to this work will find ways to enter that are supported and accessible. Experienced movers will find ways to go deeper into familiar areas and access to uncharted areas. Drop-ins are Welcome. Mary Seereiter M.S., a movement educator at Lane Community College for over 25 years, is certified in several somatic therapies such as: Body-Mind CenteringTM (as a teacher and a practitioner), Laban Movement Analysis, and Authentic Movement. Anatomy, physiology, embryology and developmental movement ground the psycho-emotional explorations in the deep and personal work she co-facilitates with the participants in her classes. Seereiter is a Registered Movement Therapist and has a private practice in her “Studio in the Woods” in Lorane, Oregon where she also teaches workshops and seminars through her business, Moving Within. What is the significance of the ubiquitous "World Tree" and its relationship to the Christmas tree? What is the teaching begind the frequent use of the numbers 3, 7, and 40?
You are invited to attend a lecture series that answers these questions and more about the drama of the world's Saviors and the universal teaching therein.
